Autism tailored climbing sessions now available
9th January 2020
We are delighted to have launched our new Autism Tailored climbing sessions, starting from Wednesday 15 January. While we always aim to be Autism friendly here in High Rise, we know that sometimes a few small adjustments can make all the difference for someone with Autism.
So for these sessions, which will run at 4.30pm and 5.00pm every Wednesday, we will turn the music off, have fewer people in the centre and provide a shorter safety briefing, to create a more relaxed experience.
It’s £10 per climber and can be booked online in the usual way – just add the number of climbers and select which of the two Wednesday sessions you would like to book. Our experienced climbing instructors are here to offer help and encouragement throughout the session. Parents or carers are welcome to join the session, either by paying to climb, or to go into the arena for free and act as ‘clippers’ helping the younger climbers to clip in and out of the climbing lines. Alternatively, they can watch the action from our seating area, café or first-floor viewing gallery.
Please note the Leap of Faith will not be available during these sessions.
