In designing High Rise, we were passionate that it should be a place where all families can come to enjoy quality time together, no matter what their ability or their needs. Prior to opening, we carried out research with families of children with additional needs, who told us that often they have to ‘separate out’ to enjoy activities with their children. High Rise is different, High Rise is for everyone.
High Rise has been designed to be inclusive and accessible, and to support individuals and families with additional needs such as autism or sensory processing disorders. We have received the prestigious Autism NI Impact Award from Autism NI in recognition of the way we support autistic guests visiting High Rise
We are keen to accommodate any additional requirements, please email contact@highriseni.org in advance of your visit if you require any further information.
For guests who may struggle with the noise levels within the centre, we have ear defenders available to borrow (subject to availability) and can make an alternative entrance available on request that provides direct access to the sensory room, without having to go through the reception/café area.
High Rise features an accessible Changing Places toilet for the benefit of our guests. Changing Places toilets are larger than standard disabled toilets, with extra features and more space. Our Changing Places toilet provides specialised equipment, extra space and a clean and safe environment. By providing space, privacy and appropriate equipment, High Rise is supporting families and carers to look after people with disabilities in dignified and hygienic conditions.

We know that visiting a new environment can be daunting, particularly for autistic guests or those with additional needs. If you are coming to Clip ‘n Climb, you will receive a safety briefing on the day from one our team. You can also watch the video below, before your visit, to familiarise yourself with what the instructors will be telling you during your briefing session.
