Published: 31 January 2025

Looking for fun half-term family activities everyone can enjoy? High Rise is open extra days this school half-term from Tuesday 11th to Sunday 16th February so there’s even more time to experience all the fun on offer at the Lisburn adventure centre.

Fun For All Ages at High Rise Lisburn!

This half-term, High Rise offers a range of things to do for families who want to enjoy quality time together in a fun, inclusive environment with activities for all ages and abilities. Whether you have bored teenagers that are hard to impress or little ones who need to burn off some energy, High Rise should be top of your list of things to do this half-term!

With energy-burning fun in Northern Ireland’s largest Clip ‘n Climb arena or our soft play adventure area, sensory-friendly experiences in our interactive sensory rooms and Inclusion Zone activity sessions  every Sunday – there’s something for everyone!

Family-Friendly Activities

Clip ‘n Climb

High Rise is home to Northern Ireland’s largest Clip ‘n Climb indoor climbing arena. With 24 thrilling climbing walls and challenges, and two daring special attractions – including Ireland’s tallest Vertical Drop Slide – our Clip ‘n Climb challenges are the perfect way to test your strength, balance, and reach new heights of fun.

With multiple climbing walls to choose from, whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you’ll love all that’s on offer at Clip ‘n Climb Lisburn. It’s exciting, thrilling, and a whole lot of fun for all ages from 4 upwards– even the adults can join in! Race friends and family on the Face To Face or Speed Walls and see who can jump the furthest on the adrenalin-pumping Leap of Faith.

Soft Play Adventure

For younger visitors (recommended age 3-8), our soft play area is the ultimate playground. With slides, tunnels, and plenty of space to run, jump, and explore, it’s the perfect spot for little ones to burn off energy in a safe, vibrant environment.

If it’s a while since you visited High Rise with your family, we’ve made some recent changes to our soft play area, to make it more accessible and easier for parents to keep an eye on their little adventurers.

  • Unified Play Area: We’ve removed the separate baby and toddler play zones. This change allows for a more open and flexible play space, which everyone can enjoy (recommended age for soft play at High Rise is 3-8).
  • Parent-Friendly Seating: We’ve moved some tables closer to the soft play area so parents can now relax nearby while keeping a watchful eye on their kids.
  • One Simple Price: Soft play entry is now £6 for all children.
  • Limited numbers: For an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone, we have reduced the number of children admitted to each session.

Sensory Rooms for a Calmer Escape

Our calming sensory rooms offer a soothing space where children and adults can relax. These spaces are fully equipped with state of the art sensory equipment designed to stimulate or relax guests.

Both sensory rooms provide a peaceful break, featuring sensory lighting, tactile wall and floor tiles, and comfortable seating. Ideal for children or adults with autism, sensory needs or anyone in need of some quiet time.

Inclusion Zone Activity Sessions during Half-Term

Our half-term Inclusion Zone activity sessions take place on Sunday 9th February and Sunday 16th February at 9.45am. These inclusive Clip ‘n Climb and soft play sessions are designed to suit guests with additional needs and disabilities such as sensory issues, autism, ADHD but will benefit others who would prefer a shorter, less busy session. There are fewer people in the centre, the music is off and our team of instructors, who have had training in recognising and working with autistic guests and those with additional needs, are on hand to support and encourage.

Make sure you leave time before or after your visit to grab a bite of lunch or dinner or to refuel with some drinks and snacks before you go onto your next family adventure.
