As we return to our normal opening hours this week, we would like to say a huge thank you, from all the High Rise and Employers For Childcare team, to everyone who visited the centre over the half-term holidays. High Rise was full to bursting every day, and each visit – whether the littlest adventurers enjoying the fun of our soft play areas or the coolest teenagers scaling new heights on our Clip ‘n Climb walls and challenges – helps our charity continue its important work, helping families locally and all across the UK to be better off.
In the past year, Employers For Childcare’s charity has identified over £12 million in financial support for families, which is only possible thanks to guests at High Rise as all profits from the centre are used to fund the work of the charity.
Here’s some examples of how High Rise guests enable our charity to help families:
When a family of four visits Clip ‘n Climb and enjoys lunch in the café, it enables us to help one family identify the financial support they are entitled to, through a call to the Family Benefits Advice Service helpline.
When a company arranges a corporate away day in our Ocean Suite, it enables us to provide leaflets to local Sure Start centres, raising awareness of our charity’s services and helping more families find out what support they are entitled to.
When a group books the Sensory Room for a series of sessions, it enables us to deliver a free outreach and advice session to a group of families and childcare providers.
When a primary school comes for a class visit to soft play, it enables us to provide our inclusive, accessible soft play and Clip ‘n Climb sessions for autistic children and their families.
Commenting on the busy half-term holiday period at High Rise, Employers For Childcare Chief Executive, Marie Marin commented: “We are so grateful to every guest who visited High Rise during the Halloween half-term. It was just fantastic to see so many families enjoying all that the centre has to offer, including families of children with additional needs, who benefit from High Rise’s inclusivity through our sensory rooms and our autism-friendly activity sessions.
“We are proud that High Rise is a Social Enterprise and that all our profits support the work of our charity, whose services are needed now more than ever. We’re already looking forward to the best Christmas yet in High Rise and encourage anyone who has not yet visited, to make a date in their diary for a Christmas day out that really makes a difference!”
