Inclusive and accessible fun at High Rise Lisburn – autism and SEND tailored sessions now EVERY week.

Inclusive and accessible fun

At High Rise it is our aim to ensure our guests always have an inclusive and accessible experience when they visit our adventure centre. But we know that sometimes, just a few small adjustments can make all the difference for someone with additional needs.

Our autism / SEND tailored quiet mornings have been hugely popular and following an increase in dates to meet demand, we felt it was time to offer these sessions weekly.

Starting from Sunday 9th June High Rise will go quiet EVERY Sunday at 10am for a morning of inclusive fun.

What’s different during the quiet sessions?

  • Smaller sessions, fewer people in the climbing arena
  • No music playing in the centre
  • Shorter, autism friendly safety briefing
  • Soft play age increased to 12 years old

Specially trained team

High Rise instructors have been specially trained by Autism NI and Guide Dogs NI to support our guests with additional needs and as always, they are available to provide support and encouragement throughout the sessions.

Clip ‘n Climb is suitable for those aged 4+, including autistic adults and parents/carers can also participate in the activity if they like, or can join them in the climbing arena to provide support without climbing themselves (just ask one of our friendly team and they’ll provide a high-vis vest for you to wear in the arena to identify you are a carer).

Accessible centre

High Rise also offers two interactive sensory rooms filled with state-of-the-art sensory equipment. The sensory spaces can be adapted to meet a range of needs, whether that’s playing with sensory toys, engaging with the stimulating equipment or just simply taking some time away from the noise and activity in the rest of the centre.

Guests are encouraged to pre-book the sensory rooms.

There is a Changing Places toilet facility available within High Rise.

Should you require, we have noise cancelling headphones available at reception to borrow or you are welcome to bring your own.

Autism NI Impact Award

High Rise holds the prestigious Autism Impact Award in recognition of how we have created an ‘autism friendly environment’ for our guests. We are committed to ensuring that we continually provide this welcoming and inclusive environment for our guests during every visit.

Book your visit

Pre-booking is strongly advised for these sessions as they often sell out in advance.

Should you require any additional support during your visit please do not hesitate to let a member of staff know.

*Please note that the Leap of Faith is not available during these sessions.
